How to use the backing plate?

With the DA polisher wrench inserted between the backing plate and the counterweight housing, hold the spindle in place while using the wrench to manually remove the backing plate.

Next, align the backing plate spindle thread and screw straight into the DA spindle (make sure the backing plate threads are covered by the provided washer). Continue using the wrench to counterhold the DA spindle, and then manually screw the backing plate firmly in place.

Turn the machine by hand to check the fitting, and if the machine binds up, adjust as needed.
