Using a clay mitt to decontaminate your car's paint is a straightforward process, but it requires care to avoid scratching the surface. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use a clay mitt effectively:Wash the Car: Start by thoroughly washing your car to remove loose dirt and grime. Use a pH-balanced car wash shampoo and a microfiber wash mitt or sponge to avoid scratching the paint.
- Prepare the Surface: Make sure the car is parked in a shaded area and the surface is cool to the touch. Working on a cool surface helps prevent the lubricant from evaporating too quickly.
- Prepare the Clay Mitt and Lubricant: If the clay mitt is new, knead it with your hands to soften it up a bit. Then, spray the lubricant (detailing spray or clay lubricant) generously onto the surface you'll be working on. You can also spray some lubricant directly onto the clay mitt.
